I am attempting to find the reference source related to comments on the NAPPSI site many month ago related to the percentage PIV restarts due to dislodgement, infiltration or Catheter movement causing clot off. Stat that I am trying to research was stated to be 40-50 percent. Not restart for all reasons, just those three. Any suggestions are appreciated.
As the former executive director of NAPPSI, I can tell you those stats came from the published literature on Statlock. So a PubMed search will pull those up. Also there are a couple of new studies that have compared different stabilization systems. that have the data you need.
