If a reaction to CHG is presumed related to CVC dressing changes.....Do you use Alcohol only? Betadine only? Alcohol then Betadine? Betadine then alcohol? Any documination to back this practice?
Good question. I think you could use alcohol and povidone iodine, reverting back to the old methods. However the use of povidone iodine first and then removed by the alcohol was never a recommended practice. So always alcohol first followed by povidone iodine. Lynn
