Due to pt's skin condition we were requested to place duoderm under the sterile PICC dressing. Does anyone know how often the dressing/duoderm needs to be changed?

As long as the dressing is dry, clean, and intact, it can be changed at least every 7 days the same as a standard VAD dressing. The Duoderm instructions for use should be available online or in the package and they state to change at least weekely. I am curious about why there is another dressing on top of the Duoderm. Lynn
