Just a question: When accessing implanted ports, isn't it a sterile procedure? Where you use mask, sterile saline flushes and sterile gloves? ONS certified nurses at my facility said according to their standards, they don't need to use mask, or sterile flushes. Is this true?
INS Standards says it is a sterile procedure and I also think your oncology nurses are wrong about their documents. Lynn
