Changing tubing and IV needleless connectors

How often are you changing IV tubings to central venous access devices? And how often for IV needleless connectors?

 Admin sets have change

Admin sets have change intervals based on what they are used for and not what type of catheter they are connected to. Again, this is thoroughly discussed in the INS Standards. Primary and secondary continuous sets are changed at 96 hours. Intermittent sets at 24 hr. Special use set for IVFE, PN, and blood have different intervals.

Same for needleless connectors - a new and expanded Standard. Change them at 96 hr also when used in a system delivering continuous infusion, plus lots of other information about conditions that warrant changing them in the Standard. Lynn
