Depends on location of fracture and location of vein you want to use. Also was this a simple or compound fracture? Is there some form of cast that prohibits getting to area of vein and adequately stablizing the PIVC? Is there a reason the opposite arm cannot be used? Risk vs benefit assessment needed.
