Intrathecal/Epidural site care

I am in the process of updating our P&P in regards to tunneled Intrathecal and Epidural site care.  The question was asked as to what other product can be used when a patient is allergic to Povidone-iodine and chloraprep can't be used due to alcohol content.  The only thing I could think of was, clean the site with sterile normal saline swabs allow to dry and place a anti-microbial dressing.

I would appreciate any other suggestions.

Thank you

The only other thing I can

The only other thing I can think of is to obtain an aqueous CHG solution (water-based, not alcohol based). But the problem with that is that these solutions are only available, I think, in bottles. So you would need to pour it onto the gauze pads and this bottle can become contaminated. Lynn
