iv stabalization devices

Currently our facility uses tape to secure peripheral IVs.  We are wanting to use a securement device to help reduce infiltrates and phlebitis. I'd appreciate knowing what your facilities are using to secure peripheral  IV's

 For evidence-based practice,

For evidence-based practice, you would need to combine the securement dressing with an IV catheter that has a built-in stabilization platform, aka wide wings. There is no evidence to support use of a catheter with a stabilization platform alone or a securement dressing alone yet. Lynn

We use the Centurion

We use the Centurion Sorbaview that has the blue extension/stabalizers on the dressing. So far good luck with them. We used to use the Statlock and switched due to cost.
