3M has an alternative PIV securement method. I have not trye dhit product yet but our hospital is transitioning to it. You can watch a video at 3M.com/tegadermiv

For evidence-based practice, you would need to combine the securement dressing with an IV catheter that has a built-in stabilization platform, aka wide wings. There is no evidence to support use of a catheter with a stabilization platform alone or a securement dressing alone yet. Lynn

We use the Centurion Sorbaview that has the blue extension/stabalizers on the dressing. So far good luck with them. We used to use the Statlock and switched due to cost.
