The hospital I work in has been using SecurAcath successfully for about 10 months now. While it may not be a bad idea, we do not currently document the lot number of the SecurAcath. We do a visual inspection before placing it and have never had an issue with broken devices or irregular tips with approximately 400 deployments/insertions.
