Can anyone help me out with identifying which children's hospitals have VAT or IV Teams that start all or almost all of their IV's? Our hospital has the model in which every nurse is supposed to start the IV's on her patients, with our 4 person VAT as the back up for difficult IVs. I am interested in finding out which Children's Hospitals have specialists providing the majority or all of the IV access. If you have that model, do you have data on overall success and 1st attempt success compared to the staff nurse model? Also # of beds and FTEs would be great. Thanks!
