Is anyone having problems with MicroClave valves? In the last 6 weeks we have had 12 patients that we have had difficulty removing the valve from a CVC or IV tubing from the valve. Thanks
Kelli. We have that problem if the nurse who connects does not allow the alcohol to completely air dry before attatching to the lumen. I am guessing it is the same principle when attatching tubing to the microclave. Materials soften with the wet alcohol then harden as the material drys so that is typically what causes the issue.
