Our facility is thinking about making a policy to stop IV fluids at night. I am sure certain criteria would be met on speciific patients as of if the fluids would be stopped or not.
1) Does anyone have a policy in place with this?
2) What complications would occur if this would take place on central venous devices? Clotting, infection?
If anyone is familiar with this or has experienced positive or negatives, I would like to hear how things are going.
