Hello Everyone
I need help from all Peds Vascular Access team. I need information for to present to my leadership team to support having a Vascular access team. If you could tell my the name of your organization, how many staff members on your team and what are the duties of your team. This information would be greatly appreciated. I am a team of one . I don't place picc but i round on all central lines, changes central lines dressing, and place difficult iv's and trouble shoot CVL. The leadership team has told me they budget every year to expand the team but new leadership feels it is more important that staff do these duties. I feel my own position is on the line. If anyone has any literature that shows the importance of a vascular access team to help increase patient satisfaction or decrease clabsi it would be greatly appreciated. thanks Cindy
The 2016 INS Standards of Practice, due out in a couple of weeks, will contain a new standard on Infusion Teams with the list of references supporting this new standard. Lynn

INS members will receive them first, they will be mailed together with the Jan-Feb issue of the Journal of INfussion Nursing. I am not certain when they will be available for online purchase. I just noticed there is a way to sign up for receiving a notification from INS about when they can be purchased. Go to the INS website home page and check those announcements about the SOP availablity. Lynn
