Are you referring to assessing the need for the line daily? or something else?
If it is the need for the line our charing software prompts us with that ? It has a section oin the assessment called review for line necessity; it then displays the indications for the central line ( a generic list); hemodynamic monitoring, mulitple blood transfusions, incompatible meds, no venous access, vessicants, high volume fluid resuscitation, chemotherapy, long term antibiotics etc.. and then the nurse simply checks yes or no to was the line necessity reviewed. Of course they are to really re act to this and if the indications no longer exist to call MD or Piccline nurse ( who should have already identified the lack of need) and see if the line can be removed and replaced with a peripheral line.
