I don't think this code would apply to a PICC which is a percutaneous insertion. This code sounds like it is referring to removal of a tunneled cuffed catheter where the subq cuff must be dissected from the subq tissue. Lynn

You cannot charge for professional fees to remvove a PICC, acute care dialysis, peripheral IV, acute care CVC, art line
Why?
Because tunneled lines need to be removed from a cuff. Cuff requires a professional and a clinic or outpatient visit
tunneled lines are not just pulled out
