What are Hospitals in other areas using for CVC jugular and other central line securement ? We have an anesthsia group that like to use staples but they are problematic: painful to some patients , fall out , some fall out leave it hanging by one staple . to mention afew.
Sutures are a problem too due to poss infection, occasionally one will break. So what is working for other areas? THX
Many hospitals have moved away from sutures and use Statlock

The SorbaView Shield Contour from Centurion Medical Products is a dressing and securement all-in-one. This securement dressing has had excellent success in hospitals across the country securing central lines, particulary IJ access.

Our team of two are placing CVCs now in the IJ, axillary/subclavian and femoral veins. One securement device does not fit all. We suture for some and others we use the Statlock/WingGard. Our infection rate is currently zero for all OUR CVCs. Patients can pull out sutures/staples and securement devices assess each patient independently for best outcomes.
