Hi iam new to the forum. My facility is currently revisiting the policy for flushing of piccs.
We use only saline to flush grshong or valved piccs. The amount of heparin used to flush non-valved
piccs is in question. Do most of you use 10mg/ml or 100mg/ml and how much?
Welcome to the forum! Heparin 10 units per mL is the national standard of practice according to the Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice. You can obtain this document at www.ins1.org. See the Standard on Flushing and Locking. Lynn
