Hello everyone,
We have a small pediatric unit, but we are seeing an increase in pediatric patients with mediports. We are in the process of drafting a policy for our pediatric mediports and are trying to research what would be the best heparin dose for locking. Would anyone be willing to share their hospital's policy/procedure? We would so appreciate it.
Thank you!! :-)

INS has published a set of cards that contains flushing and locking information for all types of infusions and all ages. The peds section was written by peds and neonatal infusion nurses. The same information is included in the pedatric chapter of the INS textbook. www.ins1.org
