I'm curious about the facilities that have stopped using heparin flush in their non-tunneled short-term central lines - who does it, what has your experience been, and do you have any data?
Thank you,

Our first meeting of our new Online Journal Club will discuss the new evidence addressing saline vs heparin for locking CVADs. We will be making some announcements about details soon. Lynn

That's great, Lynn. When is the Online Journal Club - is it on your website? Invite only?
Thanks,

We are currently setting it up. It will be through an online site where everyone registered can communicate with each other. I will choose an issue. Then do a literature search for new studies published after 2010. The content of the Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice will serve as the baseline information and the goal is to explore the new evidence that has been published since that document was released. You will receive the new studies to read and also a list of questions that will serve as the guide for our discussion. More to follow very soon on the date for this first meeting, registration process and fees, etc. We are still working on all of that but it will be soon. Thanks, Lynn
