Previous forums on this subject have provided information that Agatroban could be used as a flush for a pt. with HIT that needs to have his port deaccessed. Does anyone have a dosage for this? Any other alternatives that anyone has heard of for deaccessing/routine flushes for those with HIT. Thanks in advance for your help.
Locking a CVAD is not an indication for Argatroban and I have never seen any published studies on its use for this purpose. There are studies on many other solutions including citrate, taurolidine, ethanol, EDTA, urokinase, tPA, and saline. A literature search should find many studies. Lynn
