Maxium barrier precautions. Hair covering skull cap vs bonnet

I am an infection preventionist in a hosptial.  We are recomending to our PICC insertion team as part of maxium barrier precautions, they should be wearing a bonnet instead of a skull cap.  This is because we consider the interventional radiology suite as a OR and held to the same AORN standards.  We are getting push back from Radiologist.  He want us to produce the research study that documents this recomendation  What is everyone else doing? Do you know any research study on this subject.  Thank sue

 CDC Guidelines only include

CDC Guidelines only include a "cap" in their statement about maximal barriers. You can check their references for what was used in those studies but I don't think they are that specific for the form of hair covering. Any covering to contain hair is sufficient. Lynn
