We are looking to standardize care across a 4 hospital system...and we are researching for a list of patient selection criteria for use of antimicrobial central venous catheters. Do any of you have a list of criteria you use?
Sarah Jones MS, RN, ACNS-BC, AOCNS, CRNI
The only published criteria that I am aware of is what is in the CDC guidelines - use antimicrobial CVC is therapy is to last more than 5 days and all other things have failed to reduce your infection rate such as max barriers during insertion, use of CHG, etc. Lynn
