Are your hospitals talking about the new CMS list for 2013 of never events?
Pneumothorax for CVC inserton is now on the list of never events like CLA-BSI
What are your facilities doing to report or change rates? Are the MD's aware of this change? Is ultrasound guidance being used for CVC insertions now?
I am curious as to how well this information was sent out as it started Oct 2, 2012 and I have just now been informed of this new CMS change.
Do hospitals know about this change? CMS has reported costs of treatment and number of Medicare cases in the Federal Register.
