Hi, I am seeking information on PICC caths placed Centrally in the distal subclavian-axillary site. Specifically the Bard PICC line with sapiens tech. We have pts with contractures that have contractures making upper arm placement extremely difficult. An internal jugular is suboptimal as well due to oral secretions, etc. Please tell me if you do this procedure and where you got your training. I would also like to review articles.
Thanks in advance.
David you might shoot an email to Stephen Harris, it seems I recall him talking about such training. sa.harris@carolinavascularwellness.com
(Please forgive me Stephen if I'm stepping out of line here)
Thank you!
Hi David,
I place either a Hohn or Arrow catheter (based on the indication for the line) that has central insertion indication on the IFU. I don't use PICC's for central insertions.
Regards,
Judy
