Staffing agency nurses for infusion clinics?

I am interested in any experiences that you may have had with employing RNs and LPNs from a staffing agency to work in ambulatory infusion clinics. How did you assess their competency? By relying on the agency or by some internal process from your clinic? Did you restrict this to only RNs or were LPNs included for limited services within their scope of practice? If you used LPN's did this cause any challenges with patient assignments? Please share any other thoughts or experiences you have had with any situation that involved using a staffing agency for work in ambulatory infusion clinics. Thanks!! Lynn

 Since I have not received

Since I have not received any replies to my message, I can only assume that no one has any experience with the situation I described. I do have another question especially for my colleagues in Georgia. Do you currently work with LPNs that have responsibility for any aspect of infusion therapy? Can you give me some details of the tasks they are now performing. More than 20 years ago, I created a precepted 6 week training period for LPNs on our IV team. But I am now looking for information on how their role with infusion therapy has changed over the years. Any thing you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lynn
